Abstract

Debates about the Din-i Ilahi in XVI-XVII. Centuries in India and Imam-i Rabbani

Akbar Shah who has an important place in the history of India came into prominence by ‎his reforms and religious politics that he has followed. He established an eclectic religion ‎which was named Dīn-i Ilāhī. His activities were reacted while simultaneously found ‎adherents among both scholars and ordinary people. The leading figure among who ‎reacted against these activities was Imam Rabbānī, founder of the Mujaddidīyah branch ‎of Naqshbandīyah. In this article, it will be given information about Dīn-i Ilāhī and the ‎struggle of Imam Rabbānī with this religion and Akbar Shah’s practises will be treated.‎
