THE LIFE OF ABDULMECID-I SIVÂSI AND HIS BOOKS AND SUFISTIC OPINIONS
Abdülmecîd-i Sivâsî ( d.: 1049/1639) was a master of the Halvetiyye Order. He was bound to the Ãemsiyye branch of Halvetiyye. He had settled down Ãstanbul on intitation of Sultan Mehmed the third and gone on spiritual guioance there till the death.
He had a grand reputation thanks to his preaches that he made in Ãstanbul and especially thanks to his struggles against the Kadýzades and their suppertors that were enemies of sufis and dervish convents. At the same time, he was a poet of the Dîvân and used the word “Ãeyhî” as his special poetic name. He had sent a lot of khalifas to several places of Anatolia.
Abdülmecîd-i Sivâsî had an important role on being spread out of the Sivasiyye branch of the Halvetiyye Order. In this thesis, I triend to research his life, books, spiritual guidanes, sufistic opinions and effects.
