Ali ibn Maymûn al-Magribî: An Moroccan Sûfî Defending Ibn al-‘Arabî
Ali ibn Maymûn, an effective Moroccan sheikh in the 15th century, is one of the first Shâdhilî dervishes in the Ottoman land. He remained in Turkey, mainly in Bursa, for about six years, and by his successors tried to be spread out this order in the territories. As well as his Sufi identity it was to attract attention that he fought the Portuguese in the North African.
